"Praying To Find The Elect"

Torres & Moe
Feb 24, 2020
This week was great !! We were praying to find the elect who are ready to receive the gospel, and found many people! We found a mother who did not let her son be baptized into the church for a year and a half and regrets it, but now she wants to go to church with her 9 children lol.

We were able to get an appointment with one of our friends and we set a baptismal date with her and one other person. We are very excited!!!!!

That is so cool, thank you for sending the part about the missionaries from the temple dedicatory prayers. Actually this week I was talking with Elder Torres about how much I was noticing that the scriptures ALWAYS talk about the final judgment and that we need to emphasize that when we teach. It talks specifically about that in the dedicatory prayer for Timpanogos. How cool is that!? Wow that is nuts... so as of right now there will only be 1 unknown living with us at school??

N. is gonna get married the 20th of March!!!!!! And she will get baptized probably on the 21st!  "Oh wow I’m so excited!! More for the baptism.., but the marriage should be good too." -N.

Things are GREAT here, we had an awesome week. I am really lovin it. I was able to learn a lot from the scriptures this week even though I was reading Isaiah!!!!  "Life is good, really good. I wake up every morning 6:30 am and make some eggs. ITS FANTASTIC!" -Nacho
Hahaha hope y'all have a great week!

"Had To Play Doctor Twice"

Feb 17, 2020
Hey fam, we had a great week here in Parque Brown! Elder Torres is awesome and we are still getting along great. I don’t know if I mentioned it last week but Elder Torres cut the heck out of his finger last week while we were cleaning the font. There was like a bundle of really thick wire that we were using to scrape off gunk. Anyway, then today he was getting his hair cut and the barber lady was trying to get out a razor blade from somewhere and she sliced the heck out of two of her fingers and they were bleeding like crazy. So I had to play doctor twice these past two weeks and help bandage up my comp and the hair-cutting lady. The funny thing was that she slapped on a bunch of paper towels and put on a glove and kept cutting haha!

B. got baptized! It was so awesome! He and his mom are the definition of ESCOGIDOS! (chosen)  She, N., is going to get married soon and be baptized! She was very excited to learn about temples and know that B. will be able to be baptized for her Dad!

R. received the Priesthood on Sunday and I got to give it to him! It was awesome.  What a blessing it is to be a disciple of Christ. The Lord is preparing His people!

Love you,
Elder Moe

"B-Line To The Park"

Feb 10, 2020
We had a cool experience with our friend A. that got baptized last week. We went to his house to teach him about temples and we were super excited because he has had lots of family members pass away, so we wanted him to know how he could help them out. Once he understood the concept of temples, he asked us if you could be baptized for a friend that had passed away. We explained that you need permission and yata yata.  He then he explained how he had had a best friend that he had started a business with and they started to have a lot of success together, so they bought a small factory and hired some employees and started working a bunch and it was going really well for them.  Then his work partner, who was also one of his best friends, cheated him out and basically took full ownership in the company, kicking out A. His buddy that cheated him out of the business ended up dying 5 years later in an accident in the factory.

A. explained to us, "He finished his life cheating and lying, and I imagine he is not in peace right now in the spirit world, he really needs to be baptized. I forgave him, can I be baptized for him in the temple?"  How cool is that????? That is the true love of Christ, loving those who despitefully use you.

S. got baptized!! It was awesome and crazy! We couldn’t find her like 1 hour before her baptism. We had no idea where she was! We were sitting in Nilsa’s house waiting for something, but she never showed up. We said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father for a miracle, and then asked that we could know what we needed to do. A few minutes later I really felt like we needed to go to the park, I don’t know why. I asked Nilsa, "she has a park that she usually goes to right??" She explained how to get there and we went, on our way we saw her in the street!!!! My comp saw her, I was in a B-line to the park and wasn’t even looking. It’s awesome, the spirit told us to go to the park, but she wasn’t in the park, she wasn’t even going to the park, but on the way there we found her.

Thanks fam love you!

"SPLOOSH"

Elder Torres and Moe
Feb 3, 2020

Elder Torres, from Chile, is my new companion and I’m super excited.  Elder Andrus and I got along great and worked very well together and I think Elder Torres and I will continue to do the same. He is kind and teaches very well.

Yesterday A. was baptized! It was quite an eventful day. Early that morning we went by his house to make sure everything was good with him. We got to the church and there was already old, cold, semi dirty water in it. So, we turned the pump on so it could drain a little and we started adding in hot water. I decided to try to mix the water with my arm so it would all be evenly warm. I did this by extending myself over the font with my hand on the back wall and my feet on the front ledge. After about 60 seconds of mixing, my hand slipped and SPLOOSH I went into the font...

We then went running through the streets in my soaking wet clothes back to the pension (apartment) about eight blocks away. I changed and then called a remis (taxi) only to return to the church and find A. sitting in front all alone. We had gone running out of the church so fast that we had forgotten to turn off the pump, so when we got there fifteen minutes before the baptism, the font only had a foot of water in it..

By the time they were in the font, there was only three feet of water and A. has a broken knee.. Brother Poma basically had to shove his body under the water, then bear hug him to pull him back up. And, on top of all this, there were zero members there.  N. did show up late with her son B. though! Thankfully they weren’t there for the actual baptism.. it was so stressful.

Out of time.  Love you fam!
