"All You Have To Do Is Invite!"

March 25, 2019
Family and friends! We have been working a ton with the members to get in contact with their friends and family.  They have found that they receive so many blessings when they help share the gospel! All you have to do is invite! Make one simple invitation and the Lord will bless you immensely.  Pray to know who the Lord has prepared in your life to receive the gospel and you will see miracles!! I love you family!

"I'm Training" / "Directionally Challenged"

March 11, 2019

Tuesday I went to the mission home to receive my first son!! I’m training.  Elders Tolman and Smith from my CCM group were there too! It was kinda crazy how the time has flown and is flying! I felt like I was just the one sitting in the mission home as a nuevito (new one). It was an awesome experience to be there and feel of the spirit. There were eight new missionaries and all of them were Latinos.

My new companion’s name is Elder Alanoca. He is from Peru and a convert as of two years and the only member in his family.  His parents didn’t want him to come on a mission and I’m not even sure if they write him.  His birthday is this week and we are going to get comida Paruana (Peruvian food).  It has been quite humbling being with him thus far and really makes me want to push myself to be a better missionary.

I’m learning to have to rely on the spirit instead of a senior companion.  I can already tell that I am growing a lot.  I honestly am loving it and it’s awesome because Elder Wallace and Vickery are always there to make me laugh.
It has been quite different now with Elder Alanoca in that it is a lot harder in the aspect of knowing the area.  I have gotten us lost So. Many. Times.  It is so frustrating that I am so severely directionally challenged.  I feel like we have wasted a bunch of time these last couple days just walking around trying to figure out where we are.

One of my first few weeks in this area we went and visited la familia B with a brother in the ward. They were inactive and one of their sons was going to an evangelico church. With the support of some members, they got up the courage and desire to go to church! After their second or third Sunday, Brother B came up to me and said, “hey, my son is nine and isn’t baptized but he said he wants to be. Can you guys come teach him?” Haha! So he did get baptized, but I think the coolest part is that his brother, who had been inactive, baptized him! When we first met his brother, he didn’t want to talk to us, but then members from the ward started reaching out and even took him to the temple.  He ended up getting ordained to the office of a Priest and was able to baptize his little brother!

Hermano (Brother) B came with us to a cita (appointment) to visit a referral from a member family. When we got there, he told us about how he has lost two babies a few months after birth and he is really struggling in his faith right now. He also said, “I don’t’ know why, but no other religion has ever interested me except the Mormons.” He has been so so prepared!!

A recently returned missionary has been going out with us for the past few weeks. He is like my best friend and is such a stud. He went with us and visited a family that lives around the corner from his house.  They were a contact from like four weeks ago and they ended up coming to church! So that was a miracle!

My time is up.  Gotta go. Love you family!
